12 February 2000. CrystalMaker 4.0 played a crucial role in Britain's Open University winning
the prestigious EuroPrix award for new multimedia.
The Open University's new "S260 Geology" 2nd level undergraduate course has been
launched with pioneering CD-ROM multimedia. Two of the seven CD's cover
'Earth Materials' and feature QuickTime VR and regular QuickTime movies of
crystal structures. CrystalMaker 4.0 was used exclusively to generate the VR movies
and clips for the regular movies.
The "S260 Geology" CD-ROMs won this year's EuroPrix award in the "Knowledge and
Discovery" category, beating a number of strong challengers - from
across Europe - to the coveted title.
The prize was presented to selected members of the Open University Geology course
team at a special ceremony held in Stockholm.
