15 February 2000.CrystalMaker
Software have today launched a new 5-user licence scheme
for CrystalMaker 4, ideal for small research groups!
Whilst we have shipped multiple-user licences for some time,
it is important for users to understand how these differ
from our single-user licence. The single-user licence
allows one named user full access to the program's features.
The program can be used by that user on any number of
computers (e.g., office machine, home computer, PowerBook,
etc.) - so this is a multiple-machine licence. However,
it is a also a single-user licence, and it does not
permit other users - even if they 'share' the program on
the same 'group' computer.
If you wish to share CrystalMaker with your group -
e.g., running the program on a lab Mac for graduate
students or research assistants - then you should
purchase or upgrade to a multi-user licence. This not only
provides licensing for those additional users, it also
allows them to run the program on their own computers -
and makes them eligible for free technical support
(subject to the licensed user limit).
More details about the new 5-user group licence scheme, and our
existing 10- and 20-user schemes, can be
found on the sales page.
