5 May 2003 An all-new, fourth edition of the
CrystalMaker User's Guide has just been published by
CrystalMaker Software, and printed at The Holywell Press, Oxford,
using state-of-the-art (and Mac-based!) technology.
The new User's Guide has been rewritten, providing a highly-comprehensive
treatment of CrystalMaker 6 for Mac OS X, with an extended series of
program tips, as well as new program features and improvements.
A new, dual-column layout has been used throughout much of the guide, making
it easier for users to browse sections, as well as reducing the overall
page count. New "Open Type" fonts were used in the layout design,
providing additional flexibility and added elegance.
Page layout and graphics design was done "in house" at
CrystalMaker Software using an all Mac OS X system: CrystalMaker 6,
Adobe InDesign 2.0 and Photoshop 7.0. A "press-optimized" PDF file
was then transmitted to our printers, The Holywell Press,
in Oxford, England, who run a Mac-based printing operation. Finally,
the printed pages were "perfect bound", giving a durable and professional
finish.
A searchable, PDF version of the User's Guide is included on the CrystalMaker 6
CD-ROM, together with the previous edition (CrystalMaker 5) and an update
guide which describes the new features of CrystalMaker 6 compared to
earlier versions of the program.
