26 January 2007. CrystalMaker Software Ltd
is delighted to announce that it is sponsoring
the 2007 "Frontiers in Mineral
Sciences" meeting, to be held this Summer, at the
University of Cambridge in England.
This is the first joint meeting of the mineralogical societies
of America, Great Britain, Canada and France. The focus of the meeting
will be recent advances into the properties and behaviour of
minerals, together with their geological contexts in rocks
and biosystems. Symposia will include:
- Interactions between minerals and organic molecules
- Minerals in biological systems
- Minerals in contaminated environments
- Adsorption processes on clay mineral surfaces
- Elasticity of minerals
- Mineralogical models for nuclear waste disposal
- Amorphous materials
- Metamorphic phase equilibria
- Minerals and fluid-rock interaction
The meeting will be based at Fitzwilliam
College, Cambridge,
and includes special events such as punting on the River
Cam (not to be missed!), a candlelit dinner at
Magdalene College,
an evening reception at the Sedgwick Museum of Geology
and a recital in Fitzwilliam College Chapel.
The conference dates are: Monday 25 June - Friday 29 June.
CrystalMaker Software Ltd is pleased to sponsor this
exciting meeting, together with Science Magazine and the
European Science Foundation. Mineral Sciences represents
a unique fusion of crystallography, physics, chemistry,
biology and materials sciences: bringing together
different disciplines to solve fundamental geological
and environmental problems.
We shall also be exhibiting at this meeting - so please
take the time to come and speak to us at our exhibition
stand in the main lecture theatre foyer.
