CrystalMaker was originally written to help enthuse and inspire students. We're therefore keen to ensure that the program is accessible to as wide a range of students as possible!
In the absence of any external funding (government grants, research agency funding, etc.), the only way to continue developing (and supporting) our range of software, is to charge for it. However, we do offer substantial discounts for education users, including excellent site- and group-licensing deals.
We'd therefore like to recommend one of the following options for student users:
Best Option: Join a Group!
We strongly recommend that students participate in an existing, or new multi-user or site licence. That way, your advisor/supervisor can also use the software (!), together with other students and post-docs. If your department doesn't already have an appropriate licence, why not persuade your group to purchase a group licence? In our experience, the best research groups are prepared to invest in the best software for all their members.
Long-Term Option: Invest in Your Future
Alternatively, if you see your career continuing in research or teaching, why not persuade your department to invest in your work - by providing you with a Personal education licence?
Unlike with the group licence, a Personal licence is yours to take away with you, when you move to another institution. This is a valuable long-term investment that gives you a full, professional software package - complete with free technical support and incremental software updates - at a special, low education price.
You can order a Personal, education licence, by visiting our Education sales page.
Short-Term Option: Pay-as-You-Go Licensing
In the unlikely event that your department/group is not prepared to fund your work, we do offer students a special "pay-as-you-go" scheme for CrystalMaker. This entitles you to use the full program on an annual basis, subject to proof of student status, and payment of a small fee. Note that, unless renewed, your licence will expire after a year, and the software will no longer run.
To apply for this scheme, please download the student order form (Adobe PDF document).
